Nebiyou Yonas Tilahun

Nebiyou Tilahun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Policy at UIC and directs the Mobility, Urban Systems and Equity Research Group.  Tilahun received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.  He has been a faculty member at UIC since 2012.

Tilahun’s research focuses on travel behavior, transport accessibility, and transportation equity. His work examines how people value different attributes of travel and the built environment, and aims to inform policy and planning decisions with user preferences.  His research has focused on the transit last mile problem, the equity of transit accessibility, and more recently, the safety and equity impacts of automated traffic enforcement.
